Why Overnight?

  • Kids will have the opportunity to make new friends and bond more deeply with existing ones

  • They will feel they are part of a “camp family” of campers, counselors, parent volunteers, and instructors, creating a sense of belonging to a group outside of school or their family

  • There are many opportunities for campers to learn to work together

  • Kids learn independence through having to take care of their belongings, owning their schedules and simply with being away from home/parents

  • They are positioned to make choices, problem solve, and engage in decision-making

  • They are more fully immersed in the learning

  • Kids have the opportunity to “reinvent” themselves in a different environment

  • They (hopefully) learn to appreciate their parents more
